Plot Templates in SciDAVis: Consistent Figures, Faster Every journal has its own figure style: specific fonts, axis label sizes, legend placement, line widths. Recreating those settings by hand for each of twenty figures — and again when a reviewer asks for changes — is slow and error-prone. SciDAVis templates solve exactly this: design the look…
FFT Frequency Analysis in SciDAVis: A Practical Guide When a measurement looks like noise but you suspect hidden periodic behavior — mains hum on a sensor, a vibration mode in a mechanical part, a seasonal cycle in a climate series — the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) turns the time trace into a spectrum where each…
Automate SciDAVis with Python Scripting When the same analysis runs every week — import the new data file, fit the same peak model, export the figure — clicking through the menus stops being cute. SciDAVis embeds a Python interpreter: you can drive tables, graphs, fits, and exports from script code typed into a Note window….
Export Publication-Quality Figures from SciDAVis (SVG, EPS, PDF) A figure that looks crisp on screen can still print as a blurry mess — or be rejected by a journal’s production system. This guide explains how to get your SciDAVis graphs out of the program in the right format: when to use vector formats (SVG, EPS,…
How to Create Multi-Layer Graphs in SciDAVis A SciDAVis graph window can hold more than one plot. Each plot lives in its own layer, and layers can be arranged side by side, stacked, overlaid on twin axes, or shrunk into an inset zoom box — all inside a single graph window that exports as one…
Nonlinear Curve Fitting in SciDAVis: A Step-by-Step Guide Curve fitting finds the parameters of a mathematical model that best describe your data — a straight line for calibration curves, a Gaussian for a spectral peak, a sigmoid for a dose-response. SciDAVis offers two routes: Quick Fit for the most common models in one click, and…
How to Import Data into SciDAVis (ASCII, CSV, Excel) Everything in SciDAVis starts with a table: the column-based spreadsheet window where X and Y data live before they are plotted, fitted, or analyzed. You can type values by hand, compute them with formulas — but most real work starts by importing a file. This guide…
