Download SciDAVis for Windows 10/11 (Free)
SciDAVis is a free, open-source scientific data analysis and visualization application — a lightweight alternative to Origin or SigmaPlot for 2D/3D plotting, curve fitting, and statistics. The ready-to-install Windows package below is the latest precompiled upstream release, v2.8.
Windows installer · 64-bit

Download for WindowsFree and open-source (GPL). For Windows 10 and Windows 11.
How to install SciDAVis on Windows
- Download the installer using the button above — the file is
scidavis-2.8-win-dist.msi(97.8 MB). - Run the installer. Double-click the downloaded MSI file. If Windows SmartScreen shows a blue “Windows protected your PC” window (see the next section), click More info → Run anyway.
- Follow the setup wizard. Accept the license (GPL), choose the install location (the default is fine), and click through to finish.
- Launch SciDAVis from the Start menu. On first start you can choose whether to enable Python scripting support.
- Verify it works: create a table, type a few numbers, select the columns and press Plot → Line — you should get a clean 2D graph.
“Unknown publisher” / SmartScreen warning — what to do
SciDAVis is built by open-source volunteers and the installer is not code-signed with a commercial certificate, so Windows Defender SmartScreen may flag it as coming from an “unknown publisher.” This is expected for community builds and does not mean the file is harmful. To proceed:
- On the SmartScreen dialog, click More info (the small link under the warning text).
- A Run anyway button appears — click it to start the installer.
- Alternatively, right-click the MSI → Properties and tick Unblock at the bottom, then double-click to run.
What about version 2.9.2?
The upstream project’s newest release tag is v2.9.2 (April 2022) on GitHub (github.com/SciDAVis/scidavis), published as source code — there is no prebuilt Windows installer for 2.9.2 yet, so the 2.8 MSI above remains the recommended way to install on Windows. If you want the absolute latest code, you can build 2.9.2 from source following the instructions in the repository’s README.
